It’ll soon be the time of year in South Korea when about half the nation’s 50 million people travel long hours on crowded trains or on clogged highways toward their hometowns for the Lunar New Year holiday. For some who travel by rail, it could be a little more fun this year. Korail, the state-run rail operator, says it is launching next month a new train equipped with heated foot baths and traditional Korean heated floors. The “West Gold Train” will feature eight foot jacuzzis with seats facing the windows in the cafeteria section of the carriage. The train also has a carriage with nine rooms that have heated floors, which are common in Korean homes and allow groups to stretch out on the floor and mingle more easily. Each room can accommodate up to six passengers, the company said.
